Bedford, Iowa has many options available for people wanting to stay in town. Also Bedford exhibits extraordinary dining.

The Bedford Inn is a new place in town officially open in June 2009. The original inn was built around 1895. Don and Cindy Cox bought the house in August 2002 and began the restoration process. Many of the home furnishings local antique and furniture shops donated, even the hanging baskets were donated by Wild by Nature. The inn offers many rooms. There are rooms called Jake’s Room, The Fireside Room and the Jacuzzi Suite all of which are on the second floor. On the third floor there is a Family Suite including two bedrooms, a living room, and a sun room. It also has a Library Room on the first floor. Also there is an eight-man outdoor hot tub, a kitchenette on the second floor, and a full kitchen on the first floor. It is also considered to be a bed and breakfast. Past visitors often comment on how gorgeous the rooms and inn were. The Bedford Inn was honored by housing Lieutenant Governor Patty Judge along with officials from the Iowa Department of Economic Development/Tourism Division. They came to Bedford Thursday, July 16 to spend the night in order to promote “Iowa Stay-Cay” vacations at the many attractions in Iowa.

The Junction Café is a wonderful place to eat in Bedford. The Junction Café is widely known and people across southern Iowa and northern Missouri come to dine. They serve delicious food and every Saturday night feature an in-house band.

Bedford also offers lodges for hunters and their party to stay at. Iowa is famous for its marvelous white-tail deer. Many people from across the country come to southern Iowa in hopes to capture game to brag to their buddies about. Bedford has many accommodations to meet these hunters’ needs.

Bedford features two ice-cream stops, Frosty Trete and The Inside Scoop. The Inside Scoop offers great food and multiple flavors of ice cream available every day. It is also conveniently located near the school for easy access. The Inside Scoop is open year around.
