Bedford, Iowa offers multiple options for churches and organizations to meet every person’s likes.
Bedford has ten different churches.  There are two Baptist, a Methodist, a Lutheran, a Catholic, a Christian-Presbyterian, a New Life Missionary, a Seventh - day Adventist, a revelation light churches, and a Jehovah’s Witnesses Hall.  All churches are located in Bedford to offer different options of religion to meet each citizen’s preference.  Each church has its own unique appeal.
Bedford has lots of organizations for community members besides the ones associated with the school district.
The Welcome Committee is centered in the Bedford Area Development Center.  BADC is also known as a welcome center.  The Welcome Committee has placed items available to all inquirers.  There is a display full of brochures about different aspects of Taylor County. There are also displays for business cards available to everyone who stops in.  The Welcome Center always has a stack of flyers of upcoming events.
The Lions Club is an all male organization.  The Lions Club hosts the 4th of July parade every year.  They organize the order of the parade and contact people to be in the parade.  The Lions Club rotates Grand Parade Marshall amongst its members every year.  There is also a Lioness Club to offer the same kind of organization as the Lions Club but for females.
Bedford is home of Masonic Lodge # 156.  The lodge is located in the Masonic Temple between Main Street and the Courthouse.  The temple is also host to Chapter #228 of the Order of the Eastern Star.  Both of these organizations are service based.  Membership into the Freemasonry is open only to males.  The Order of the Eastern Star is open to both males and females.
